Modernity and vintage spirit live side by side in Diesel Social Kitchen; a thoroughly modern kitchen, as regards the design and functionality of its elements, but one which belies a lived-in and casual air, typical of Diesel branded products, including those of the home collection, defined as Premium Casual Living. Scavolini's contribution was the technology and know-how of a company which boasts many years of experience in the industrial production of modular kitchens. Defining the nature of the design are the large volumes and natural materials, aged with special vintage treatments, like wood, steel, cement and glass worked together withe metal. The doors are characterised by the choice of oak, worked in such a way as to show off its knots, or by the use of wired glass: the metal mesh gives the glass a very trendy retro feel in line with the Diesel philosophy. The aim is to create an environment in which a vintage soul and industrial-inspired details ironically co-exist. The kitchen is built not only on the modularity of the individual elements, but also on free-standing modules that can be combined together.
