Patricia Urquiola always knows how to surprise and excite us; she hits the nail on the head even where the pitfalls of banality could be hiding in wait. What is Cottage? An outdoor daybed, says the catalogue, i.e. a bed to be used outside, but with the necessary protection from the hot sun and from the wind. The designer has created a structure shaped like a little shed, complete with fabric blinds and screens, which contains, on a simple flat surface, a padded element and respective cushions. So, it's a cottage in miniature, in which to escape, relax, read, sleep, or play, if you're still a child. the materials are all obviously suitable for outdoors and the dimensions are well-balanced (200/78 x 210/82 x 255/100 Ht cm, for a total volume of 2.73 m3). Cottage is available in various finishes and is supplied in an assembly kit.
