Rocs

Rocs

Furniture - or a spatial strucutre? The Bouroullec brothers won't specify. They say it was created thanks to computer technology and that its name is Rocs. The structure is formed and grows by module (like many of their projects and as often happens in nature). The design, Vitra Edition 2007, has remained such, because standardised industrial methods have not yet been found for its complex construction. Each module, in cardboard covered with linen, is different from the rest and is hand mounted to a wooden framework. The edges of the modules are folded outwards, giving the structure's cover a panelling effect.
