"Nothing is more abstract than reality", said Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964), the artist who brought to bottles, jugs, fruit bowls, flower pots a sense of order, rules. The Tonales series relates back to these "Morandi" axioms, offering a few basic shapes and a modulated variation of shades of colour of the various pieces (tray, platter, jug, plates and bowls, glasses, cups). The project draws its inspiration from the vernacular ceramics of Korea, Japan and China and is conceived as an exercise in refining some objects that are able to perform multiple tasks.
