Biography
Monika Piatkowski was born in Poland, but grew up in Oslo, Norway. She trained as both a visual artist and graphic designer at Glasgow School of Art, completing an MA in Multidisciplinary Design in 1994.Piatkowski began her design career in television and graphic design before founding her own design company Hive in 1998 with architect and husband Mark Dyson. In 2001 Monika took over the running as well as the creative directing of the company. She has received several international awards for her design work and over the years has also developed a career as an artist with a painting studio based in Deptford, London. She has had several solo exhibitions and participated in Royal Academy Summer shows. She frequently works to commission, collaborating with both interior designers and architects.
