Working with architect and wife, Terry Dwan, between 1986 and 1996, they designed buildings in Europe and Japan. Citterio received the Compasso d’Oro-ADI in 1987 and 1994 for his works. In 2000, he established "Antonio Citterio and Partners," now known as "ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel." Citterio served as a professor at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture from 2006 to 2016 and was recognized as a "Royal Designer for Industry" in 2008. In 2017, he received the "Premio Artusi" at Casa Artusi. His designs have been exhibited at MoMA in NYC and the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris. In 2021, he co-produced a documentary film, "The Importance of Being an Architect," with ACPV ARCHITECTS, exploring the role of architects in shaping society.
