Biography

Pierre Yovanovitch is a French designer known for his work in interior architecture and furniture design. He founded his practice in 2001 after a career in fashion with Pierre Cardin led him to pursue his creative passions. His aesthetic balances volumes, proportions, and light with raw and refined materials, emphasizing exceptional craftsmanship. Inspired by early 20th-century European and American design, he has a particular interest in Swedish Grace, notably Axel Einar Hjorth and Gunnar Asplund. His projects span residential, hospitality, set design, and commercial spaces, with offices in Paris and New York. A contemporary art collector, Yovanovitch frequently collaborates with artists such as Claire Tabouret, Francesco Clemente, and Tadashi Kawamata, curating and commissioning site-specific works. In May 2021, he launched Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier, a furniture brand operating alongside his interior architecture practice, combining a made-to-measure approach with superior craftsmanship, materiality, and sustainable sourcing.
