Biography

Trained as an artist, Pierre Charpin has devoted himself to furniture and object design since the early 1990s. The use of a simple vocabulary and elementary forms is a constant aspect in his work, as well as the desire to offer sensual objects. Drawing, which he practices as a starting point for his designs, is an essential part of his creative process.
Living and working in Paris, he collaborates with internationally renowned editors such as: Alessi, Arita 16/16, Cristallerie Saint-Louis, Danese, Hay, Hermès, Ligne Roset, Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres, Tectona, Venini, The Wrong Shop, Zanotta. Pierre Charpin's pieces have been included in exhibitions around the world and are held in many museum collections. Since 2005, he collaborates with Galerie by creating original pieces in limited edition.
Several exhibitions have been dedicated to his collections at the gallery in Paris and London. He was elected Designer of the Year 2017 at Maison & Objet.
