Lust studied interior design in Brussels where he opened his own studio in 1992. His furniture design work is produced by leading brands such as MDF Italia, De Padova, Driade, Fiam, Kristalia and Extremis and has received many important awards including special mention for the 'Compasso d'Oro'. Meanwhile Lust has pursued his research on special edition pieces that are now exhibited in well-known galleries. His design studio is active on different scales of design and markets, from architecture to street furniture and more recently to monumental sculpture projects. His design is clearly identifiable through the visible tension he gives to his objects, and the curves inspired by his innovative (de)formation process of metallic surfaces. Shown in over 50 exhibitions worldwide, his work was the object of a significant retrospective in 2007 at Grand Hornu Images in Belgium and is part of the permanent collection of museums such as Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. He is a frequent guest lecturer at major art and design institutions and is regularly featured in many international design publications.
