Biography

Christopher John Rogers, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, developed a passion for art and design early on, influenced by anime, comic books, and the works of Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso, as well as the distinctive fashion of the Southern United States. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2016, where he launched the CJR brand through his senior thesis, blending American practicality with high glamour.

By 2019, Rogers had earned the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund’s top award and was listed among Forbes’s 30 Under 30. The following year, he received the CFDA’s American Emerging Designer of the Year, and in 2021, his brand was a finalist in the LVMH Prize competition and won the CFDA American Womenswear Designer of the Year. In September 2023, he was nominated for the same CFDA award again.
