The textiles from the Blockprint collection, in 100% fine quality linen, have five geometric patterns, hand printed and inspired by traditional Japanese or Indian designs. Like the Rail fabric, named after the piqué bedcovers used in Northen India and Pakistan. Or Kalamkari, a checked robe, hand painted then printed using carved blocks, an ancient technique originating in India, in the Gujarat, in the 15th century. Dominique Kieffer has managed to make these patterns contemporary, taking from them severe geometry drawn with lines in neutral but incisive colours.
